Fresh water Resources: Past, Present, and Future

In the past, when the Island's population was 1000 to 2000 people, the water on the Island was enough for the inhabitants to drink and even to be used by the passing ships and even the limited irregation of that time. At that time, the Island had enough water supply facilities such as reservoirs, ponds, and large and small wells with different depths in the northern part (the current green tree area) and was less prone to droughts.

In the old texts, Kish Island's water and water reserves have been described as follows: "The Island's wells provide a reliable water supply for home uses and people use wells to reach underground water. Ships often resort to this Island for drinking water. The depth of the wells on the Island is 5 to 10 meters, and a lot of water can be obtained from them without any effort. There are some prominent and famous wells scattered in the residential areas of Kish Island.

Currently, desalination is extensively used for supplying fresh water to help meet the growing demand and reduce industrial wastewater's environmental impacts.
